CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Craniosacral therapy (also called cranial osteopathy, or CST) is treatment to facilitate the proper function of the craniosacral system.

The craniosacral system is comprised of the cerebrospinal membranes and fluids which surround, and protect, the brain and spinal cord. The craniosacral system extends from the cranium (the skull, face, and jaw) to sacrum (the end of the tail bone).

Inflammation of any portion of the craniosacral membrane can cause adverse affects to the entire craniosacral system. Observing the craniosacral rhythm can give good indication of the health of the whole craniosacral system.

With gentle manipulation, the craniosacral therapist can facilitate the release of restricted regions in the craniosacral system.

Normalized craniosacral system fluidity, and improved mobility, have a significant and beneficial impact on a wide range of sensor, motor, and neurological systems.
